The English Handwriting Competition for the academic year 2024-25 was successfully conducted at Huzaifa Junior College on February 18, 2025. The event aimed to highlight the importance of beautiful handwriting, encouraging students to focus on clarity, neatness, and presentation in their written communication. In today’s digital era, where typing has become the norm, the competition served as a reminder of the value of well-crafted handwriting, which not only enhances readability but also reflects discipline and attention to detail.

Grand Celebration of the 65th Maharashtra Day and Labor Day

The program commenced in the early hours of the morning with a gathering of students, staff members, society officials, and local well-wishers. The tricolor was ceremoniously hoisted by Society President Mr. Aijaz Ahmed Shaikh, accompanied by the singing of the national anthem, creating a deeply patriotic atmosphere that resonated throughout the campus.

In his inspiring and heartfelt address, Mr. Aijaz Ahmed Shaikh extended warm greetings and congratulations on behalf of the society to:

  • The people of Maharashtra, for their spirit of resilience and cultural richness

  • The Government of Maharashtra, for their ongoing efforts toward progress and development

  • The Society Members, who have consistently worked toward promoting education and community welfare

  • The Principal of Huzaifa Junior College & High School (Urdu Medium), for their leadership in academic excellence

  • The Headmistress of the Urdu Primary School, for nurturing the foundation of early education

  • The College Lecturers, for shaping the minds of future generations

  • The entire Teaching and Non-Teaching Staff of the Urdu schools, whose dedication and behind-the-scenes efforts are vital to the institution’s day-to-day functioning

President Aijaz Ahmed Shaikh emphasized the dual significance of this day. He reflected on Maharashtra Day, which marks the formation of the state in 1960 and symbolizes the unity, language, and heritage of the Marathi-speaking people. He also acknowledged Labour Day as a time to recognize and honor the hard work, sacrifices, and dedication of workers, particularly in the education sector, whose roles often go unrecognized but are foundational to society’s growth.

The ceremony also included motivational talks by senior teachers, group singing by students, and a brief cultural presentation that highlighted Maharashtra’s rich history, linguistic pride, and contributions to India’s socio-political landscape.

The event concluded with a community refreshment session, during which attendees engaged in conversations about educational development, teamwork, and the importance of collective responsibility. The atmosphere was one of solidarity, mutual respect, and optimism for the future.

This celebration served not only as a ceremonial tradition but also as a reminder of the values that bind us together—dignity of labor, respect for culture, and the pursuit of excellence through education. The Bassein Urdu Education Society continues to uphold these values as part of its mission to empower future generations.
