1972 • The Genesis

Establishment & Vision: Our Journey Since 1972

Bassein Urdu Education Society, Vasai, was established in 1972 under the leadership of our Founder President, the late Ali Abdul Rehman Shaikh (Shaikh Ali Sanam Indori), who was deeply dedicated to the cause of minority education.

The society was officially registered in 1976 as F-40 in Palghar District, Maharashtra, under the Bombay Public Trusts Act on 25/05/1976. Founder President Late Shaikh Ali Sanam, Founder Vice President Aijaz Ahmed Shaikh, Founder General Secretary Vali Mohammed Ansari, Founder Treasurer Khalilur Rehman Shaikh, and other visionaries formed the pioneer committee.

Awami Urdu High School Inaugurated

In June 1982, Awami Urdu High School started on the first floor of Jama Masjid, Musaji Gally, Vasai Gaon (currently Huzaifa Urdu High School). It was officially inaugurated by the then MLA, Mrs. Tarabai Vartak, who also facilitated government educational permissions.

MLA Tarabai Vartak addressed the parents of Awami Urdu School students at Sukudtrit Hall, Parnaka, Vasai Gaon, congratulating the President and members of Bassein Urdu Education Society for their relentless efforts.

Farewell to the First SSC Batch

The historic farewell function for the very first batch of SSC students from Awami Urdu High School was held in 1985. President Aijaz Ahmed Shaikh delivered a heartfelt farewell speech alongside General Secretary Vali Mohammed Ansari, Principal Ansar Sir, Wasim Sir, Intezar Sir, and the graduating students.

1985 • The Dilip Kumar Call

The Iconic Meeting with Dilip Kumar

On 15/09/1985, President Aijaz Ahmed Shaikh presented a formal appeal letter to legendary actor Mr. Dilip Kumar. Dilip Kumar responded with great enthusiasm regarding purchasing land for the school building.

A 22-guntha plot in Hathi Mohalla was identified. To secure the purchase, Dilip Kumar personally provided ₹50,000 for the token agreement. He later issued letters appointing the society trustees as authorized delegates to raise funds for the school construction.

1994 • Major Benefactor

The Nissa Hussain Nensey Trust Partnership

During the fundraising drive, Mr. Hussain Bhai Nensey, President of the Nissa Hussain Nensey Charitable Trust, Mumbai, visited Vasai and inspected the identified land. He generously contributed ₹10 Lakhs to purchase the land and clear a 60-cow tabela occupying the site.

Upon completing the legal formalities, Survey No. 1040 (22 gunthas) was officially registered in the society’s name in 1994. Hussainbhai Nensey subsequently donated an additional ₹5 Lakhs for boundary wall construction.

1994–1996 • Civic Recognition & Sanctions

The "GUNIJAN" State Award & N.A. Clearance

In 1994, Society President Mr. Aijaz Ahmed Shaikh was honored with the prestigious “GUNIJAN” Award for his remarkable efforts in promoting and implementing the Urdu language in education.

In 1996, the Thane Collector approved Non-Agricultural (N.A.) status for the 22-guntha plot. Architect Mr. J.P. Mehta was appointed to design the G+3 modern school building and submit comprehensive blueprints to CIDCO.

2000–2001 • Construction

CIDCO Sanction & Foundation Stone

In October 2000, CIDCO granted the Commencement Certificate (C.C.) for constructing the G+3 school building designed by Architect Mr. J.P. Mehta. On January 26, 2001, the foundation stone was laid by former MLA Ridhwanbhai Harries, President Aijaz Ahmed Shaikh, GS Vali Mohammed Ansari, and Nagar Palika President Ajay Khokhani.

2004 • Grand Milestone

Completion of Huzaifa High School

Alhamdulillah! The G+3 Huzaifa School building was successfully completed with state-of-the-art classroom infrastructure, science laboratories, and administrative facilities. Donors Mr. & Mrs. Hussainbhai Nensey visited the campus to inspect the progress and expressed their deep satisfaction.

2006 • Centenary Honors

100-Year Centenary Celebration & Honor

In 2006, a grand celebration was held at Huzaifa Urdu High School to mark the 100th anniversary of Zilla Parishad Urdu School, Vasai Gaon. Thousands of students and dignitaries joined.

MLA Vasai Loknete Hitendraji Thakur and Nagar Sevak Haji Jamil Ahmed Shaikh presented Bassein Urdu Education Society with a prestigious commemorative trophy in recognition of exemplary service in Urdu education.

Establishment of Science & Commerce Junior College

In 2008, the society achieved another monumental milestone by establishing a full-fledged Science and Commerce Junior College at Huzaifa Campus.

The inauguration ceremony featured a ribbon-cutting led by Society President Aijaz Ahmed Shaikh, alongside General Secretary Vali Mohammed Ansari, Treasurer Rehmatullah Shaikh, Principal Mehjabeen, and lecturer Mr. Gafoor Sir from T.B. College.

2009–2010 • Expansion

Rapid Growth & Nensey Family Building Expansion

Following the college launch, enrollment surged from 50 to over 160 students across Science and Commerce streams. As classroom capacity maxed out, President Aijaz Ahmed Shaikh appealed to donor Hussainbhai Nensey.

June 2022 • Competitive Coaching

Free NEET, JEE & Olympiad Coaching Program

Observing that talented students from underprivileged backgrounds struggled in national exams due to expensive commercial coaching fees, the society launched specialized NEET, JEE, and foundational science coaching completely free of cost.

This initiative bridges educational inequality, enabling minority youth to secure admissions in prestigious MBBS government medical colleges and IIT engineering institutes.

Acharya Chanakya Skill Kendra & PM Narendra Modi's Address

Under the Acharya Chanakya Kaushalya Vikas Kendra & Pradhan Mantri Rojgar Yojana, Huzaifa Urdu High School & Junior College was selected among only 1,000 recognized institutions in Maharashtra.

A 6-month Free Graphic Design Course (worth ₹25,000) was instituted with 180 registered youth. Inaugurated by MLA Hitendraji Thakur on 20th September 2024, followed by a special live online address by Hon'ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
